Alice Walker is a famous African-American novelist, activist, poet and prose-writer.
Alice Walker Biography:
She was born on 9 February 1944 in Eatonton, Georgia. She was deeply influenced by slave narrative and autobiography. She come into prominence when she won Pulitzer and national books Award for Her Novel " The color purple. She lost her one eye at the age of eight by an accidentaly air gunshot by her brother.
She was a promising student awarded with so many scholarships like Rehabilitation scholarships and others.
She also takes an active part in many social events like one of the famous civil rights movements of 1960, anti-war protests and other women's movements.
In November 2008 she wrote An open letter to the newly elected President. She addressed him as " Brother Obama and wrote" seeing you take your rightful place, based solely on your wisdom, stamina and character, is a blame for the early warriors of hope , previously only sung about.
