Greetings to all our NRI's . we laud your contribution in building india.

History : 

Parvasi Bhartiya Divas was started  in 2003 by Atal bihari vajpayee leading NDA govt in the remembrance of the return of Mahatma Gandhi from South Africa. Mahatma Gandhi  was returned to india on 9 januray 1915.  From 2003 to 2015 it was celebrated yearly . But since 2015 it is celebrate once in every  two years.

Theme for 2021:

Gulf is the theme for 2021 pravasi bharatiya divas.

why we celebrate Pravasi Bharatiya divas ?

It was started to praise all our NRI's brothers and sisters  to mark their significant contributions to building our nation. on this day goverment have a chance to interact with all the Diaspora community. Diaspora are the people who are seperate geographical location from their origin place either by choice or by forcing in colonial era.

NRI are the non resident indian .who are living in the other countries in the world .
According to united nation india has largest share of migrant in  the world. India is  forming more than 6% of the world's total migrant population. It is estimated that a total of 17.5 million Indians migrants lived across the world.
